OUR PURPOSEThe Lord Jesus Christ has called us to ship donated Bibles, books for Bible Colleges and pastors, hymnals for churches, and Sunday School quarterlies to believers in poor countries. So far we have shipped into 21 countries including Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Myanmar, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Malawi, etc. We have sent small amounts into some of those countries, and we have shipped many tons into the others. Presently we ship via 20-foot containers which hold approximately 28,000 pounds of materials, and 40-foot containers which hold approximately 44,000 pounds of materials. We ship these materials to places where the people use English. There are millions of people outside the U. S. who use English. For example, in Africa there are 11 countries which have English as their official language. Our English language materials are sent to people who use the English language. ABOUT USWe are a nonprofit faith ministry, recognized by the IRS as a 501(c )(3) organization. We depend on people who believe that Christians should obey the Great Commission to make financial investments in our work. We are Southern Baptist in our church membership, and most of our contacts here in the states are Southern Baptists. Overseas we distribute our materials to any believers and churches that want them. CONTACT INFORMATIONCall Steve Rutledge, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00
p.m. at 864-640-1541. DIRECTIONS TO OUR MINISTRY CENTERWe are located on the west side of Greenville, one half block off White Horse Road, which is Highway 25. The physical address is 20 Martin Drive, Greenville SC 29617. If you come south to the Greenville area via I-85, take exit 44, which puts you on White Horse Road, Highway 25. (If you come down I-85 from the Spartanburg direction, turn right onto White Horse Road. If you come down I-85 from the Atlanta direction, turn left onto White Horse Road). Go exactly 10 miles and you will be in front of Armstrong Elementary School. Proceed past the school and look for the first street on the left. That is Martin Drive. Turn left onto Martin and go one half block. You will then be in front of the large brick building that we use. A small white sign will direct you to the entrance doors. If you come to the Greenville area via Highway 25, you will pass through
the edge of the town of Travelers Rest. Proceed about four miles and
Highway 25 narrows from six lanes to four lanes. As soon as the road
narrows, turn right at the next corner, and that puts you on Martin
Drive. Go one half block. You will then be in front of the large brick
building that we use. A small white sign will direct you to the entrance
doors. BIBLES ARE THE GREATEST NEEDMany believers in the third world have never had a copy of God’s Word. Many unbelievers are searching for the Truth, and they would like to have a copy as well. Because of their poverty they cannot afford a Bible. Give us your extra Bibles, and/or purchase a few for us to ship overseas. We also need New Testaments and Gospels of John. We accept most common translations, like KJV, NKJV, NIV, NASV, CSB, ESV, etc. The Bibles you donate must be in usable condition. We cannot accept ones that are split, have pages missing, or do not have covers. We don’t have the ability to repair Bibles. It would help us greatly if you would prepare each Bible or New Testament for shipment by removing all the bulletins, photographs, etc. from the inside. If the outside cover needs to be cleaned, please clean it. Put your Bibles in small boxes and close the lids. Ship them to our mailing address, or deliver then to our Ministry Center. Thank you! BOOKS FOR BIBLE COLLEGES OVERSEASBible Colleges in poor countries need books for their libraries. Many schools have only ten or twelve books! If there are no Bible Colleges in an area we serve, we simply give a few books to individual pastors. However, we prefer to place them in Bible College libraries so many people can use each volume. We need many thousands of Christian books. We want everything from simple study course books to seminary text books. We don’t need fiction, and we don’t need secular books. We are pleased to receive Christian books for children. We put them in Bible College libraries, too, and children in those communities use them and learn about Christ. All the books that are donated should be in good usable condition. The spines must not be torn. None of the pages should be missing. We cannot repair books before shipment. We do reserve the right to not send books that we consider inappropriate. Books are heavy, so place yours in small boxes and close the lids. Ship them to our mailing address, or deliver them to our Ministry Center. HYMNALS ARE A BLESSING TO CHURCHESThe poor churches we assist want hymnals. They are not able to use choir books, sheet music, or any of the fancy stuff. They need the basics. They need hymnals. We accept only five different hymnals:
If your church has any of the above titles you could provide to this ministry, they will be a huge blessing to churches in countries where people live on $200 to $500 a year. Send only the hymnals that are in good condition. If the spines are torn, or if some pages are missing, etc. please do not send them. It would be appreciated if you would remove bulletins or other papers inside the hymnals. Then put them in small boxes, close the lids, and get them to Luke 19:10 Ministries. You may ship them to our mailing address, or deliver them to our Ministry Center. SUNDAY SCHOOL QUARTERLIES ARE HELPFULChurches in poor countries have very few resources for teaching their people. Most of the churches that we assist have practically none. They are so happy when they receive our gently used and new left-over Sunday School quarterlies. Please notice carefully the following guidelines:
There are three other LifeWay publications that we accept: Discipleship Training quarterlies, Open Windows, and Home Life. We have special instructions about shipping Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Open Windows, and Home Life to us.
